Darina O’Shea teaches yoga and mindfulness meditation in Kerry.
She started yoga after a chance meeting with Bharat Thakur in New Delhi, India. He is an internationally acclaimed yoga master. He was chosen by his master Sukhdev Brahmachari at the age of four and taken to the Himalayas. He studied yoga and related areas such as Ayurveda, tantra and mantra.
Darina was, in her own words, ‘blown away’ by the physical and mental benefits of yoga practice. She continued her training in Barcelona with Xavier Sola and Pilar Ruberte. She was further inspired by teachers such as Tomas Zorzo, Danilo Hernandez, Nicolas Evans, Bridget Woods Kramer and Donna Farhi. The styles of yoga that Darina has now trained in include shivananda, ashtanga, anusara and vinyasa flow.
After 7 years training and teaching in Barcelona, she returned home to Ireland to open her own yoga studio at Faungorth Activity Centre, just outside Kenmare. Here she teaches dynamic and gentle classes, and introduction to meditation in a lovely, purpose-built centre.

Hi Pat. Just saw your message. Yes, men attend the classes. I’ll give you the timetable. Classes Tuesday & Thursday @ 7.30pm. Beginners Class: Wednesday @ 7pm. I also have classes in town in Kenmare Dance Studio, Monday 7pm and Tuesday at 10am. See you soon. Darina
